About PSR
Piedmont Senior Resources Area Agency on Aging, Inc. provides supportive services and advocates for persons 60 years of age and older. The agency is a private, non-profit agency serving residents of Amelia, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, Lunenburg, Nottoway and Prince Edward Counties.
PSR provides home delivered meals, congregate meals at senior centers in each county, homemaker aid services, legal services, insurance counseling, patient advocacy, referral services and minor home repair and other services designed to help seniors lead independent lives, and remain safely in their homes.
Each jurisdiction appoints a representative to the Board of Directors to provide input and govern the agency. The Advisory Council serves as a link between the agency and the elderly. Those on the council are senior citizens, other service agencies and interested individuals. Together, the Board of Directors and Advisory Council assists in assessments of current needs and services and recommendations for improvements and follow-up assessments.
Funding for PSR comes primarily through the Older Americans Act. PSR also receives funding from other sources, including local counties and donations from corporations, small businesses and individuals.
