Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program
Resident Advocacy | Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program
The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program assists and advocates for persons receiving long-term care services, whether that be in a nursing home, assisted living facility or through home-based care services. Anyone can contact the Ombudsman with a complaint or for answers to general long-term care questions. The Ombudsman works with families, residents and facilities to resolve issues concerning residents’ rights, quality of care and quality of life. The Ombudsman also coordinates with Medicaid Managed Care Advocates via the Commonwealth Coordinated Care Plus (CCC Plus) Program; educates families, residents, facility staff, and the community about residents’ rights; and ensures residents’ quality of care meets the standards set forth in state and federal regulations and laws.
