PSR in Need of Christmas Basket Donations for Area Seniors

Christmas 2017 is almost upon us! It is a wonderful time of the year, full of joy and good cheer; at least for most of us. For some, however, this time of the year can be lonely and painful. Many of our senior citizens live alone and have no family living or perhaps nearby. Many of them live with the most basic of necessities, as costs have risen and their retirement income has remained the same for twenty-five years or more. The suicide rate among seniors is highest at this time of year.

In recognition of these facts, PSR is working to bring a little joy to many of our homebound seniors in the seven counties we serve. PSR and Navona Hart with RealLiving Cornerstone have joined forces again this year for the 2017 Subaru Share the Love Event.

The national kickoff for this year’s 2017 Subaru Share the Love Event is November 16, 2017. To celebrate this day, PSR is hosting the Chamber of Commerce Afterhours Event. We invite you to help us kick off our 2017 Subaru Share the Love Event by joining us for food, libations and Christmas music on Thursday, November 16th from 5: 00 – 7: 00 p.m. at our office located at 1413 South Main Street in Farmville.

We ask you to bring a donation for our Senior Christmas Baskets. Items needed for the Christmas Baskets are:
  • Laundry detergent
  • supplies
  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Toothbrushes/Toothpaste
  • Hand soap
  • Lap Blankets
  • Toilet paper
  • Canned foods
  • Paper towels
  • Non-perishable foods
